Facebook - Internship Experiences

I have had two internship experiences as a UX Researcher with Facebook-- the first being a Summer working within Oculus and second in the Messenger org. During my time with Oculus, I spent time researching shared experiences around media in VR, and these insights went into the development of Facebook Horizon. I planned my research roadmap and carried out interviews, a survey, and usability tests to gather data.

During my second internship working on FB Messenger, I once again planned my research roadmap and conducted a large-scale survey, remote interviews (this was a unique internship experience as the entirety was remote due to COVID-19!), and a design sprint. It was a truly productive experience and I delivered insights from each stage of the research that had tangible, actionable outcomes. My experiences with Facebook were fun and positive, and allowed me to grow as a researcher, understand industry research and working in a fast-paced environment. I truly enjoy exploring the best ways to interface with various teams and colleagues to ensure that I am understanding problems and utilizing research-driven insights produces tangible results that shape workstreams and product decisions.
